ULANO LX 660 BLUE is a high quality diazo photopolymer emulsion resistant to solvents and water.
Designed for precision screen printing stencils, it provides exceptional durability and resistance to water-based inks, solvent-based inks and dispersion adhesives.
Thanks to its high viscosity and even distribution, it is ideal for both manual and automatic printing.

General characteristics:

  • Based on Diazo's UV-polymer technology

  • High resistance to water-based, solvent-based inks and dispersion varnishes

  • Smooth, blue layer before exposure, green after sensibilisation

  • High viscosity of approx. 7000 mPas (at 23°C)

  • Easy to apply and to spread evenly

  • Suitable for manual and automatic applications

Screen preparation:

The mesh must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased before applying the emulsion in order to achieve reproducible and precise results.
ULANO degreasers or concentrates for automatic washing machines are recommended.

Emulsion application:

Application starts on the print side to fill the mesh, then builds up the layer on the squeegee side (e.g. 2-1, 2-2, 2-3).
An emulsion application machine is recommended for repeatability.

Drying:

After emulsion application, the screen should be thoroughly dried in a dust-free room with fresh air at 35-40°C.
Proper drying increases the resistance of the matrix to paints and solvents.

Exposure:

The irradiation process is carried out with UV light with a wavelength of 350-420 nm.
Best results are obtained using metal halide lamps.
Exposure time should be selected according to the type of mesh and the working conditions - in the case of water-based inks, an extended exposure time is recommended for maximum resistance.

Retouching and blocking:

For retouching and blocking out unused areas, it is recommended to use products from the Screenfiller range - water-based, resistant when dry.

Washout:

Finished stencils made in ULANO LX 660 BLUE emulsion can be easily removed using de-inking agents.
Residual paint or so-called "ghosts" are removed with post-cleaners - it is advisable to test on a small screen area before use.

Storage:

  • Non-sensitised emulsion: up to 12 months (20-25°C, protect from frost)

  • Sensitised: approx. 6 weeks (20-25°C)

  • Pre-coated sieves: up to 4 weeks (in the dark, 20-25°C, re-dry before use)
