How do you wash screen printing stencils?

If you have never heard of screen printing, it is always worth catching up on your knowledge. It's a popular method that allows you to use a fine mesh and a special stencil to apply, for example, a chosen design or appliqué to a T-shirt. It seems quite complicated, but with a little practice you can decorate your fabric with beautiful prints at a not too high price. It is worth knowing, however, that after completing the task, it is a good idea to wash the used stencil so that it is ready for the next work at another time. How do you do this? What should you use to wash your stencils?

It is essential to remember to remove the putty from the screen you are using every time, because if you forget to do so, subsequent removal will be much more difficult or even impossible. For cleaning the screens, we recommend a combination of Antistain Ultra and Screen Cleaner UV.

First, apply Screen Cleaner UV to the mesh on both sides and then mix it already in place with Antistain Ultra using a brush. The resulting concoction is left on the mesh for about 15 minutes, after which time a strong jet of water is directed at the mesh. A high-pressure cleaner will be perfect for this. If the degree of soiling is very high, the preparations can be left on for longer, as both preparations are not harmful to the fibres.

Screen Wash Universal is also a helpful preparation, which is primarily formulated for Fujifilm Sericol inks, but works well with all types of screen printing inks and varnishes. It is very economical to use, but is best applied immediately after printing is completed so that the whole stencil cleaning process is completed successfully.
